"I am honored and proud to be flying the flag for the 70th Festival
de Cannes,’ said Cardinale in a statement, "and delighted with this
choice of photo. It’s the image I myself have of the festival, of an
event that illuminates everything around. That dance on the rooftops of
Rome was back in 1959. No one remembers the photographer’s name … I’ve
also forgotten it. But this photo reminds me of my origins, and of a
time when I never dreamed of climbing the steps of the world’s most
famous cinema hall. Happy anniversary!"
The poster was designed by Bronx agency in Paris with Philippe Savoir of Filifox creating the image's visual identity.
Pedro Almodovar will preside over this year's Cannes festival jury,

Christmas is the second album by Guatemalan Bass Player Fito Garcia. This album includes 11 cover tunes perfomed in several layers of Bass Guitar and upright Bass in true Cuban Style, all of these backed by percussionist Luis "El Pana" Tovar from Venezuela on Timbales, Congas and Bongos, and graced by singers like Marlin Ramazzini, Carlos Cascante and Miguelito Valdez. All arrangements of these traditional Christmas songs, brought to you by Garcia, who managed to transform with great eloquence old songs, and made them modern and driven by bright rhythmic patterns that invite to move and dance. The track God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen is a testament to modern Timba with it's fresh harmony and intertwined melodic rhythms that resemble an electric guitar. Also in true Afro-Cuban tradition, Carol of the Bells features Israel "Toto" Berriel and Mario Allende on Bata drums, in contrast to all other songs on the album. Silent Night features Marlin Ramazzini on traditional Guatemalan percussion, making this track a smooth Mayan sounding "Son Chapin". Winter Wonderland comes through as a tasty Cha Cha Cha that features Kerry Galloway on the Bass Melody and Solo adding a new bass color to the rest of the album performed by Garcia. This album is filled with Jazz overtones as shown on O Tannenbaum and most melodies and complex harmonies of the work presented. It is an extraordinary listening delight, that will put a smile on your face during the Christmas Season.
