Today is International Artist Day.
The day chosen to honor artists and their contributions to humanity worldwide is October 25th, Pablo Picasso's birthday, one of the most influential painter of all time. Also, it marks week 4 of my birthday Oct 4 celebrations of exotic adventures.
My friends say I'm an artist. Well, aren't we all?
My first giant attempt for a big project!!
My exotic adventures guide will be the creative challenges on the way. I love the thrill. Without doubt, inspirations from my beloved Master of Destruction, parrot Baby Picasso and kick-ass Master Painter, Pablo Picasso will keep my choreography canvas fresh, youthful and playful. I'm open to possibilities and help along the journey. Naked faith and gut instinct will high-fly my vision.
Yesterday, Baby Picasso and I went to stores to buy some fabrics. The head pattern cut, fabric colors chosen. Today I will meet up with my team of pattern-maker, sewer, fabric cutter to see how it goes.
It will soon be unveiled to Vancouver and the world. We will be parroting, playing, exotic salsa dancing on the streets in the urban jungle.
So you think it should fly too, eh? :)
Is Pablo Picasso is a parrot lover? I don't know. His paintings definitely are darn colorful.
Is parrot Baby Picasso an artist? You bet. Hairstylist, fashion designer, sculptor, escape artist and visual artist. Look at the stylized half-naked feathered body. Then there are mysteriously disappeared and parrot-sculpted buttons beak-crafted on my "parrot-designer" pants and shirts.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. ~ Pablo PicassoInspired by my parrot Baby Picasso, I map out different pieces of the puzzle and in the process to create the world's first 12 foot tall giant human parrot prototype - an exotic salsa dancing parrot. Sitting on a creative goldmine of choreography ideas, photos, videos, designs and sketches, I've gathered, toyed with what capture my imaginations and my heart in the exotic adventures over the years.

been the chroniclers of history for as long as humans have walked the
earth, as dinosaurs and birds have flown the sky. Artists are a largely ignored group; yet everyone feel the undercurrents
of their influence.
Art is the backbone of
everything we use and see that is man made, yet the artist behind the
scenes is seldom recognized.
Cultures are defined by their art, yet we
take for granted these unsung divas of art.
Everyone can participate on this day in many ways:
- Visit a gallery and explain why you're there.
- Visit an artist studio.
- Purchase a piece of art to support an artist or host a show.
- Take your favorite artist to lunch and explore their world.
- Have your mayor proclaim this day for artists.
- Have your local media film an interview and do an article about the artist.
- Help sponsor an emerging artist, through a weekend workshop or fundraiser.
- As a gallery owner, host an Open House with as many of your represented Artists.
- Throw a house party featuring your Artist's friend and their artwork, you art lovers!
- Host an "Art Auction" in a restaurant with a guest speaker to talk about art appreciation, art history and the importance art plays in our society. Charge per plate. This money can be used to help sponsor new talent.
- Come up with your own ideas to participate.
