WANTED: WALK-the-PLANK ADVENTUROUS PRODUCTION ASSISTANT/

BABYSITTER for FREE-FLIGHT, NAUGHTY PARROT, BABY PICASSO

Warning: If you expect a petting zoo pony, cuddly pussy cat or a bubbly puppy, you are not the right person. Your patience will be put to the extreme test. 

Or if you feel hurt easily, it won't work. Parrots do not bond easily to anyone, except its mate for life. Smart-ass, honest, extremely loyal and loving (when it choose you in its own way), it has an intelligence of a 2 to 5 years old human child. A bit of a psychic, my parrot can sense your joy, fear or misbehave. 

Baby Picasso is no ordinary fat chic, urban parrot stay at home watching soap opera all day. It is a playful, passionate parrot, born with a mission to inspire, entertain and change the world. 

It is not Cirque du Soleil.  Mischief officer. Master of destruction. Can-opener. Pooping machine. Houdini escape act is no match. Messy eater. Love playing with food but very clean.

Accountabilities: 

You will work closely with me and/or the event manager and performers to

• supervise, set up play and work area efficiently and attractively 
• answer general inquires, data entry
• enforce protocol with tact in public or during performance
• keep the playcage and surrounding area safe, clean and tidy
• feed, prepare meal, ensure food, water and supply are adequate 
• handle, play with the parrot, conduct basic training 
• take simple photos/videos, other administrative duties as assigned
• maintain professional appearance at all times 

Requirements:

• Open minded, caring, great organizational skills and details-oriented
• No parrot experience required.  Will train the right person.
• Customer service experience 
• Nightlife friendly, have reliable cell phone 
• Clean, valid driver license (shift stick a bonus, not a must)
• No dance experience required
• Foreign language a bonus

Reflecting on my adventure, I've been having some dangerous conversations with the legendary, Master Martial Artist, Bruce Lee celebrating his 70th birthday last Tuesday. We talked about immortality and Kaptain Jack Parrot's dangerous quest for the Fountain of Youth.

Arrr boys & girls! You cannot be more kick-ass, more dangerous and frightening than the sincere and freakin' honest development of your potential.

In one of his movies the GAME of DEATH, a martial arts movie star must fake his death to find the people who are trying to kill him.

If someone will buy invest an assassin to kill you, in their eyes you must be worth something, worth the trouble or some $$$$$ dollar amount. Or they won't bother.

You and I are in a high stake adventure-game of death and life.

Arrrgh! Hopefully, nobody is trying to kill you.

How much have you tapped deeply into your potential?  Heaven scary or hell exciting in the wild ocean, you have huge potential you don't even know. It can get really uncomfortable.   It requires great courage,  and freakin' honesty to ask yourself the question. You are awakening the big sea monster. And you must face the truth of who you are.

• Who the hellOO are you? 
• Where you are now? 
• Who the hell do you want to be?  
• Where the hell are you going? 

What you will become? Your destiny? Nobody knows yet. Sexy or not, it's super exciting!!

It is your future in the making NOW.

The biggest investment you can make is to develop yourself.  No one can easily take it away from you.

It means you must grow and expand. You can choose different areas of your life: health and body, mind, money, sex and love, career, emotion lifestyle.

Get bloody dancing in Halloween like a zombie or sexy pirate lady is one thing. But in real world HellOOween,  the school of hard-knocks battle field is another thing.

If you are any serious about living to your full potential, depending on how resourceful you are, it requires serious commitment of time, energy and money.

Don't buy into big results without no effort. HellOO!!

Saw a Facebook status update a looking for talent.

I'm considering a commercial casting principal role this Saturday to play a 30 - 55 years old Chinese man in suit and tie.

Business type - Professional - WARDROBE: suit and tie. Look Sharp. -2 lines - Spoken in English. -- must have a valid passport.

I wonder is it business as usual or business NOT as usual in today's global competitive economic climate and the Financial Crisis happened in Wall Street . Sir Richard Branson popped in my mind. He is a rebel, uber-successful business person that is hard to fit into a box, challenge to imitate because he is unique. Would you take his financial and business advice?

I used to worked  as an advertising executive for one of the largest international advertising agency in Asia. The amount of time, effort and energy in creating and executing a campaign is insane. The investment is huge. So is the return. It all start with creative brief before the shooting of the  campaign begin. Our clients are multinational companies. I worked with sexy lingerie, fashion, cosmetics, liquor brands including Elizabeth Arden, Salvatore Ferragamo, Triumph, Nestlé, SC Johnson, Capari, Triumph.

The training was brutal for new interns and executives. It is a high-stress, deadline driven environment. For the right person, it could be extremely rewarding. For me, it has been one of the most amazing adventure and training I had. I call it Shaolin Temple  of advertising agency. If you know mastering martial arts of Kung Fu is not challenging. I am no Mad man.

What is daunting is the pace of change is so fast with today technology facing entrepreneurs, small businesses. Playing the A game is not only to survive, but thrive and prosper.

I know it would be a fun challenge to prepare for leading role.

Not your everyday dance shoes.

I was having exotic salsa dancing training in the pool.  The flippers become my new dancing shoes in the water.  I was told not a good idea to walk in the flippers on the floor. After playing with the flippers a little bit, I decided to walk them with my hands instead.

You empty your mind to allow for new possibilities.  To practice improvisation you need to consciously throw again preconceived notion of  what something is and how it is being used.

You adapt yourself to new situations.  I tried on a few flippers. They were  too small for my feet. But I succeeded to wear them on my hands. You can use them for your chest workout in water like sitting pectoral fly machine. It is great a fantastic chest workout. A surprise discovery!

If your improvisation play does not come natural like a dolphin, get wet. Go crazy laughing.

A Pain in the Ass. Maniac Monday

Welcome to Maniac Monday! HellOO! In flashback, if there is a movie that influenced me more to go after my dangerous dreams, it is 'Flashdance'.  I did the 'Maniac' thing. Now, I'm dancing for the kick-ass adventure my life! Very fortunate to have set foot on dancing in 30 beautiful countries ... and counting more.

You cannot sit on the ass, wish things to happen. Unless you are the birdies hatching golden eggs, it is a different story.

What is the problem?

There is no problem sitting on your ass dreaming of your fabulous life now and the kick-ass ideas to change the world.  You are going to take on the world where the world is not enough!

The problem is sitting on your ass for too long. It affects your blood circulation and energy flow. When you are out of the door, you leave what is familiar, what is comfortable behind to the world.  You create movement, more blood flow for your sexy body and evil mind.

You think human species like 007 or modern day Kick-Ass Pirates, like Kaptain Jack Parrot are designed to sit at the desk in front of the computer screen in the office all day long?

Nothing get worse than your dreams die.  Sadly, you die with them.  :S  Some of my baby dreams were dead, before they have a chance to flash out of the fish bowl, into the ocean door front.  I swear I won't let that happen to myself again.  Don't let that happen to you, my friend.

I am creating the KICK-ASS DREAM 100 ( KAD 100 List) It's not the bucket list. It is a part of the training tool in my new signature BOLDPLAY60 coaching program.  (Not ready to enrol yet.)

This demonstrates the importance of personal communication for preserving peace.

31 winners of the Nobel Peace Prize have realized World Hello Day's value to help preserving peace. 180 countries, human and non-human species, has observed World Hello Day.  Why not use the occasion of World Hello Day as an opportunity to contribute to the process of creating peace and express your concern for world peace?

Self-Identity, Thiefs, Blackbeard

ARRR! ARRRe you living in your own prision?

Thiefs, murderers, Blackbeard. You won't find Robin Hood in the jail cell.

When I first met 6' 7" Stedman, his tall statue was imposing, yet very gentle and soft-spoken.

Michael Jordan is only 6'6".  I'm about 5'11" I'm shrunk in "Alice in the Wonderland.")

He was sharing his message of love and self-identity in this book  "Identity: your Passport to Success"  Stedman worked in a  prison system for 5 years. What insight could he gain?  You're dealing with people with a brutal reality, a gloomy or no future.

How can you survive without hope where there is no escape from freedom, except life time of imprisonment?

But how free are you really, matey?

Have you become the prisoner of your mind?

How to break free and fly out of your own prison?

Your mind can play tricks on you. So many people let fear hold them prisoner in their relationship, health, financial, career and business.

To my big surprise, playing the role of KAPtain Jack Parrot as a KAP(Kick-Ass Pirates) on the quest for the Fountain of Youth has taught me a lot.

One of the most powerful strategy to kick-ass being a killer creative, performance artist, actor, play and adventure coach is:  Discover your Self-Identity.  

I incorporate in BOLDPLAY60 training and coaching program.  Through play and adventure with the Art of Exotic Salsa Dancing, I help you get out the prison of your mind. So you can kick ass at work and in life as part of Kick-Ass Pirates: Carnival.

To accomplish the impossible, you must have a self-concept of who you are.

How you define youself dictate the choices you make, the actions you take or not take. Therefore, it will influence your future and destiny.

You bet she will be jumping, swinging, climbing, leaping trees. Jump of the cliff? No, I don't think so.

To be successful, you cannot let mistakes or your past define you. You are not the past.  If you label yourself as stupid and hopeless, as some species who cannot change, in the horrible case of being labelled by society as thiefs, murderers and rapists, you are dead. This is as opposed to someone who believe he or she has infinite potential to change and grow. You break loose of the jail cell faster, with much less effort.

How can you possibly turn over a new leaf if what you do is holding onto the old YOU, the identity who always make stupid mistakes, bad decisions? No, you cannot.

Defy fate. Change your identity. Change your destiny.

If you use only the past to predict and judge your future, where will you be? Possibly nowhere. Or stay where you are.

Stop and think! What identity you have that hold you back from going all out, putting yourself out there? What stop you from putting your best foot forward? Not tomorrow. Not next week. Not next year. But NOW!

Passion Is Not Intellectual, But Visceral

How do you express the human body authentically?

Vis·cer·al: adjective
1. based on deep inward feelings: instinctive, unreasoning, gut level, not intellectual
2. dealing with crude emotions

Often times when you learn to dance, the first thing you have in mind is how to execute the move.  The mechanics of it. It is great. It is an achievement.

If you hip has been moving only in a certain way. Now you can learn a new way of moving. You have just re-wired your brain. 

But expressing of your body is really an emotion expression.  For example, you may scream or jump for ecstatic joy. How skilful you are at engaging your raw, crude emotion will make your dancing and performance so much more interesting and engaging.

When you invite a girl to dance,  the raw sex appeal is more than the mechanics. You could lift her up in the air which may seem expressive and even impressive.

If  it is nothing more than a mechanical move,  your dancing is dead.

It is your ability to communicate the emotion with her and the audience, be it exuberance, passion, sadness or madness, which demonstrate the artistry of exotic salsa dancing.

Next time, when you are on the dance floor, think how you can express your body and emotion authentically.

Culture Day Weekend kicks off tomorrow. Tonight is the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) opening gala.

Movie lovers, local and international media will flock to the nests of various theatres, fervently showcasing some serious kick-ass movies. If you are mindful about interconnectedness of all life on earth, what could be better than the film that connects all the culture together. You could sample films from about 80 countries of different genres on your own or with your hot date, amigos and amigas.

Whether you are romantic, adventurous or geeky, I'm sure you will find the movie treasures that match your exotic and electric taste!

The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is an annual film festival held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for two weeks in late September and early October.

Being a real life superhero is unfathomable to many. What would you rather have for your superpower, strength or courage?

I cannot imagine one in a million chance that I would kiss a parrot. So vivid. So unreal. So wild.  The first kiss was 5 years ago.

The truth is I was scared, though Baby Picasso was still a 4 month young chick. I felt Baby Picasso was afraid of me too.

"Raymondo, you're so afraid of Baby Picasso!" Lynda who nursed Baby Picasso, laughed joyfully and pointed out my hilarious reactions during my visits in Mission, BC.

Ahoy!! Hello!!  That's a freakin' big beak. Crap hands. Can opener! Nutcraker!  Crack open the hardest Brazilian nuts in the world is no problem. Before I met Baby Picasso, my finger was bitten by a big blue and gold Macaw few months that I don't even know in a pet store  It was my fault. I just put my fingers in front of the beak for it to kiss, like a toy. Bloody smart?

Kissing is easy.  Not.  Not when it's a big, beautiful, wild parrot.  Definitely, more nerve-wrecking than kissing a girl.  :D

Courage is not the absence of fear.

Think about how you go about your life taking on the toughest challenge when you get up in the morning or afternoon. Without strength or courage, how can you face the big world out there, kid?!! No kidding. Without strength or courage, how can you pursue your big, hairy, audacious goals? Create the most exotic-sexy, kick-ass adventure?

Without strength or courage, how do you dance with monstrous fear? Laugh in the face of death?

You don't have to be a superhero to have the superpowers! How do you get them?  The clue is in the super-sexy four letter word: "LOVE"

Harness the kick-ass love. Being deeply loved as opposed to loving someone deeply are two distinct emotions. They directly affect what you experience and your passion.

The mission on the quest for the Fountain of Youth is not a piece of cake for KAPtain Jack Parrot.

To love or be loved (by someone or something) and to give or to receive are two different mindsets.

The exotic-sexy babies have wings! While playing with the big wings of  parrot Baby Picasso for creative inspirations of Kick-Ass Pirates Carnival.  I got distracted by a car quiz on facebook and took it: Which car suits your personality?

Exotic, luxury, supercars like Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini,  Maserati, Batmobile?

The result is obscene!

Raymondo Deserves a McLauren F1:

Overjoy to many, but why so many have immigrated aboard to countries like Canda, USA, UK?

Reflecting on my decision ...  I'm an immigrant, an exotic import. :)   Our family immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong. Having studied in Canada and France, I graduated and earned a business degree, major in marketing/fashion design at Dalhousie University in the lobster Province, Nova Scotia.  In addition to political stability, since my sisters also studied here and we speak English, Canada is a logical choice. My mom and dad have always wanted something good for us, having a good education, a good job, a good future and be happy.  I'm extremely fortunate and grateful.

What does a degree, diploma or a piece of paper grant you?

• A license to print money?
• A ticket to a 6 or 7 figure high-paying job?
• Guarantee for a secure job for life? (Is there such a thing anymore?)
• the beautiful woman or man of your dream? (Cupid have lots of fans)
• the Fountain of Youth? (Ask my cousin Captain Jack Sparrow)

Not ... when there is no freedom, passion and growth, in my book or film. 

Real education give you and me the true power and freedom, the power to take charge of the NOW, the future of NOW, the freedom to be, the ability to think for yourself and open the heart as well as the mind.

I'm never content just to make a living, live a "normal" life. To live with passion, using my talents, creativity and strengths to kick-ass! I want a lifestyle of adventures and play, to make a freakin' difference!! Just like a Superhero would.

You and I may not have sovereignty over the world of commerce in the seven seas or the eight skies. In democratic countries, the  freedom to adventure your own path and pursue your dreams is Mission: I'mPossible.

How many dare to claim sovereignty over ourselves?  Many think they are free, but not. They are slaves to what other think, traditions for traditions sake, opinions of others, jobs that they hate, their mortgages, girl friends, boy friends, husbands and wives or children.

Do you claim self-ownership or someone claim ownership over you?

My birthday is coming up in October. I'm gonna have kick-ass celebrations that I've ever done before!  Will think over the first weekend of exotic, Supersexy September.

What if the Handover is the opportunity play with this exotic beauty?  Even if I don't own one, wouldn't it be a super fun experience to drive one? It will be one of for-fun life's goals, before kicking the bucket.  Afterall, dreams do come true for those who dare go after them.

Some kick-ass tips not to miss life, but get more out of it.

1. Be BOLD
If only we all had the balls of Ferris Bueller, we could be just as happy as he is. I would guess that 96% of people wouldn’t even dream of getting onto a float in the middle of Chicago’s Von Steuben Day Parade, but Ferris not only does it, but sings two songs that gets every spectator in the street jumping and dancing.  The Beatles would be smiling with Beatles juices.

If you are so tight, remember this: (unless you want a diamond, a girl best friend, in two weeks)

2. Don't over think. Do it.

Love Dirty Dancing? Get ready for the time of your life! 

Dirty Dancing / Exotic Salsa Dancing Performers and Dancers Wanted

Time flies! The weekend marks the second half of Audacious Year of the Dragon in sexy August. 

We will celebrate the classic movie Dirty Dancing at the Yaletown Free movie night on Sunday August 19 at David Lam Park.

• Male and female, boys need to be in good shape 
• Outgoing, reliable, have a passion for dancing and parrot-friendly a must.
• No dance background required. Will train.

Dirty Dancing is one of my most favourite movies.  The movie and the music has kept me inspired and set my body on fire dancing in the days and in the middle of many nights. I bought the CD and the DVD. Thanks goodness! I didn't break my back doing the moves, like when Baby jumps up while you catch her in the air. : )

Flash back in "Total Recall" in 2004 when Dirty Dancing 2 ( Havana Nights) was released,  I was performing and teaching at Cineplex Metropolis movie theatre. I taught workshops on Dirty Dancing 101 for the Fun-Loving or Shy.

It is hell lot of fun, moving and shaking. And it is exciting and scary too! When you  let your body and hips do the talking in Latin dancing. And you shut up and dance.

Latin dancing can create a lot of self-consciousness and goose-bumps sensations. I know it from first hand experience. Being an Asian and as a Chinese Canadian, brought up from a conservative family and culture does not help much. "Touching" the opposite gender can be a sin. You may end up going to jail, if not hell. It is not a touchy, feely culture. Hugs and kisses in the Latin American cultures and family are part of daily experience, not even in North America.

I am well aware of all the challenges facing beginners. Lacking the confidence and shyness inhibits a lot of fun  even among the outgoing, boys and girls alike. At the same time, there is nothing quite like it when you are able to get on the dance floor and move.

Unlike solo dancing, you are not dancing by yourself.  When dancing with an attractive girl, she is right in front you. And you move together. We are connecting! It is thrilling and exciting.

Partner dancing set me free! It is the most natural from of creative self-expression.

Do you know Bruce Lee loved to do the Cha Cha Cha on the movie set? It is one of the most flirtatious Latin dances. The dance provides excellent agile footwork training.

How to develop more confidence? And overcome the shyness without looking like an idiot on the dance floor?  Being rejected left and right kill the fun too. We are not hitting baseball or hockey stick here.

It takes a lot of courage and practice to dance at a high level or even as simple as ask a girl to dance.  But anyone can learn to do it with some coaching or training.  Private coaching is the quickest way to learn, a  secret weapon for many dancers. The North American culture encourages the girls but not the boys to dance at an early age. 

I won't put Baby in the corner. My dance and adventure partner-in-crime, parrot Baby Picasso must be thrilled.

Tonight free outdoor movie "Grease"  starring Olivia Newton John and John Travolta will play at Stanley Park around 9 pm.

Good girl Sandy and greaser Danny fell in love over the summer. But when they unexpectedly discover they're now in the same high school, will they be able to rekindle their romance?

Grease is a 1978 American musical romantic comedy film directed by Randal Kleiser and produced by Paramount Pictures. It is based on Warren Casey and Jim Jacobs' 1971 musical of the same name about two lovers in a 1950s high school.

Its wildly melodious soundtrack album ended 1978 as the second-best selling album of the year in the United States, behind the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever, another film starring Travolta.

Unfair Affair With Your Sexy Underwear

When is the last time you have an unfair affair with your sexy underwear, not in the closet, but out on the street! 

Your underwear won't complain. Please don't complain in the beautiful sunny day for a great cause!  I'm not complaining. :)

The Vancouver Underwear Affair is part of BC Cancer Foundation. The BC Cancer Foundation raise funds and unleash a voice for devastating yet “hidden” cancers like prostate, colorectal, ovarian, testicular, bladder, cervical, and uterine that may affect you or someone you know.

Participation in the Underwear Affair helps lift the taboo connected with cancers below the waist.  

Why the hell are these cancers considered “taboo”? Too dirty or what?

These cancers affect areas of the body that may be uncomfortable to talk about and that are often seen as embarrassing or shameful. (Scary) One may not want to see a physician to get screened for these types of cancers. This makes care and treatment an unexplored option to some of those who need it. Shedding light on these cancers means more awareness and more funding, making research and treatment a reality.

Let's find out what is exciting happening for this International Kissing Day long weekend as the Exotic Salsa Adventures continues.

Summer lovin'  happened so fast! Sexy summer is in full swing! Sunny forecast whole weekend! Boys and girls, I'm fired up! How are you celebrating your adventure, my friends? 

Today July 6 is International Kissing Day and my favourite movie The Amazing Spider-man opens this weekend. Have you ever tried the Amazing Spider-Kiss?

I will be doing street interviews and performing to celebrate the summer with a special PDA (Public Display of Affection) edition with parrot Baby Picasso and demonstrating Exotic Salsa Dancing in 60 seconds or less. And you can learn how to do that too!  :)  It's about being playful, spontaneous, connecting with others, and in the authentic moment. Celebrating life with love and passion and freedom of creative expression!  A web load of fun!!!
