Playdate with the Gypsy Kings: Baby Picasso Tribute

My summer affair with Baby Picasso, the parrot had always ended with a flying bang bang celebrating at the Fair, PNE.

Where is Baby Picasso? Arrr, I missed Baby Picasso and the tropical flare in the French Riveria.



I'm super excited to celebrate and pay tribute to Baby Picasso this Saturday.

I never grow tired of listening and dancing to the Gypsy Kings.

Can't wait to experience the Gipsy Kings concert, featuring Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo at the Fair, PNE this Saturday!

Melding deep-heated flamenco, rumba, salsa and pop to the tune of 20 million albums sold, the Grammy Award-winning hit-makers behind 'Bamboléo' celebrate in their very own, blistering and unconventional tradition will take you back to the south of France with flamenco guitars and sexy booming Spanish vocals.

Uniting the family Reyes and the family Baliardo, the band continues a tradition that has drawn famous fans like Picasso, Cocteau, Dali and Chaplin.

If I could go back in time to mingle with Picasso, Cocteau, Dali and Chaplin, will you?
just like Woody Allen's film Midnight in Paris.

From playing on the streets of Cannes and the hedonistic heights of St.Tropez, they have broken world music barriers as one of the rare groups to climb the US and World music charts.

Featured in the likes of The Big Lebowski, Toy Story 3 and Glee, the band has embraced western classics by Bob Marley, The Doobie Brothers and The Eagles with globe-hopping grace, while also incorporating dramatic cues from Brazilian and Caribbean culture.

I'll be choreographing an exotic adventure through the art of play and joyful exuberance.

Claudia Cardinal Graces the Poster for 70th Cannes Film Festival

The poster for the 70th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival features Italian acting legend Claudia Cardinale.

A dancing, laughing, skirt-swirling Claudia Cardinale graces the official poster for the 70th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes unveiled its official poster, which celebrates the Italian actress and social activist in red-and-gold glory, on Wednesday. The 70th Cannes festival runs May 17-28.

"I am honored and proud to be flying the flag for the 70th Festival de Cannes,’ said Cardinale in a statement, "and delighted with this choice of photo. It’s the image I myself have of the festival, of an event that illuminates everything around. That dance on the rooftops of Rome was back in 1959. No one remembers the photographer’s name … I’ve also forgotten it. But this photo reminds me of my origins, and of a time when I never dreamed of climbing the steps of the world’s most famous cinema hall. Happy anniversary!"

The poster was designed by Bronx agency in Paris with Philippe Savoir of Filifox creating the image's visual identity.

Pedro Almodovar will preside over this year's Cannes festival jury, and Italian-French actress Monica Bellucci will serve as master of ceremonies.

Cannes' full competition lineup will be announced April 13.
