Birds of All Feather - Film Lovers Me Hearties

Birds of a feather flock together.  ~ Proverb

Lots and lots happenings! It will be a crazy, exciting and supersexy weekend.

If you set foot on the soil of Vancouver, you will find culture. It is what I love about Vancouver and the people.

Culture Day Weekend kicks off tomorrow. Tonight is the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) opening gala.

Movie lovers, local and international media will flock to the nests of various theatres, fervently showcasing some serious kick-ass movies. If you are mindful about interconnectedness of all life on earth, what could be better than the film that connects all the culture together. You could sample films from about 80 countries of different genres on your own or with your hot date, amigos and amigas.

Whether you are romantic, adventurous or geeky, I'm sure you will find the movie treasures that match your exotic and electric taste!

Celebrate! Let's not forget some playtime. Relive the great memories you have or creating new ones, your choice.  Let's dance and find out the treasures awaiting!

The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is an annual film festival held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for two weeks in late September and early October.

Both in terms of admissions and number of films screened (152,000 and 386 respectively in 2011) VIFF is among the five largest film festivals in North America. The festival annually screens films from approximately 80 countries on 10 screens. The international line-up includes the pick of the world’s top film fests and many undiscovered gems.

Three main programming platforms make VIFF unique: The Festival screens the largest selection of East Asian films outside of that region, the Festival is one of the biggest showcases of Canadian film in the world and VIFF has one of the a largest non-fiction program outside of a Documentary Film Festival.

Attracting a large, attentive and enthusiastic audience of film lovers, the festival remains accessible, friendly and culturally diverse. As the critics say, VIFF is very much a festival "designed for the benefit of people who love films and people who make them."

Are you the next Steven Spielberg, Robert Rodriguez, Jerry Bruckheimer? I love watching the Amazing Race. I often wonder what was behind the scene to make that big adventure happen. I wonder what executive producer, Robert Rodriguez Bertram van Munster know that we don't? Learn about the craft and business of film and TV making from some experts in one hour or four days. You could attend the Vancouver Film and Television Forum, a four-day conference supporting the Canadian film and TV production industry.
